Smyth (Ballygalget, Portaferry) Died 16th October 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Annie Elizabeth (Betty) beloved wife of the late Jimmy, loving and devoted mother of Bernard, Rita, John, Eilish, Ben, Dympna, Colum, Breda and the late Laurence, dear mother-in-law of Pat, Shirley, Neil, Sharon, Michael, Rosemary and the late Maurice and a much loved granny and great granny. Her remains will repose at John Smith’s Funeral Home, 91a High Street, Portaferry on Monday (18th Oct.) from 1pm. until 5.30pm (viewing by appointment – phone 02842728379) when her cortege will leave for St Patrick’s Church, Ballygalget via Cloughey Road and Ballygalget Road. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am restricted to family only, in line with Covid-19 restrictions. The full service may be viewed on St Patrick’s Church Ballygalget webcam. Interment afterwards in adjoining graveyard. Our Lady of Knock intercede for her. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by all the family and extended family circle.

Ryan (Portaferry) Died 11th October 2021. Suddenly. Peter beloved son of the late Theresa and Hugh Ryan, loving and devoted brother of Maria, Catherine, Geraldine, Brendan and Irene, dear brother-in-law of Gerard, Bill, Des and Peter and a dear uncle, great uncle and great great uncle. His remains will repose in John Smith’s Funeral home, 91a High Street, Portaferry from 3pm until 5pm on Thursday (14th Oct.) and from 10am until 5pm on Friday (viewing strictly by appointment -phone 02842728379). The funeral cortege will leave the Funeral Parlour on Saturday at 11.30am to St Patrick’s Church, Ballyphilip, via High Street, Ashmount Drive, Steele Dickson Avenue and Shore Road, for Requiem Mass at 12noon, Interment afterwards in adjoining graveyard. For those unable to attend the Mass, viewing is possible on St Patrick’s Church, Ballyphilip webcam. Fitzgerald (Rureagh) Died 10th October 2021, peacefully at hospital. Damien, dearly loved husband of Sheila, loving and devoted father of Adrian and Áine, dear father-in-law of Sonia and Steven, much loved grandfather of Cian, Callum, Saoirse and Seamus, dear son of Seamus and the late Mary, dear brother of Stephanie, Eamon, Ciaran, Grainne, Sinead and the late Eilís and a dear brother-in-law, uncle, nephew and cousin.
His remains will leave his home, 2 McVeagh’s Meadow, Kircubbin on Wednesday at 1.30pm to St. Joseph’s Church, Ballycran for Requiem Mass at 2pm followed by burial in adjoining graveyard. The service will be relayed to the carpark area for those unable to enter the church due to Covid restrictions. In line with current guidelines the Family home will be restricted to family and close friends. Angela, dearly loved wife of the late Hugh, devoted mother of Moyra, Paul and Bernadette, dear mother-in-law of David, Sami and Simon, much loved granny of Clarissa, Curtis, Aoife, Oisín, Jude, Danny, Séamus and Niamh, dearly loved great-granny of Mia and Emily and a dear sister of Eamon and Patrick, and the late Alistar.

Angela’s remains will be reposing in John Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday 12th Oct. from 10am (viewing strictly by appointment Tel. 02842728379) until her removal at 6.15pm to St. Joseph’s Church, Ballycranbeg. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in adjoining graveyard. The service will be relayed to the carpark area for those unable to enter the church due to Covid restrictions.
